TEC 45 Diver

TEC 45 is the next level in the PADI TecRec (Technical Diving) program, following the Tec 40 course. The Tec 45 course is designed for divers who want to further expand their knowledge and skills in technical diving, allowing them to plan and execute more complex decompression dives with extended depth limits.

Depth Range:

Tec 45 allows divers to conduct decompression dives with a maximum depth of 45 meters (148 feet). This extends the depth range beyond Tec 40 and provides divers with the opportunity to explore deeper environments.

Decompression Procedures:

Building on the skills learned in Tec 40, the Tec 45 course covers more advanced decompression procedures. Divers learn to plan and execute dives with longer decompression obligations and increased complexity.

Gas Switching:

Tec 45 introduces the concept of gas switching during a dive. Divers learn how to switch between different gas mixtures to optimize decompression and manage gas supply.

Equipment Configuration:

The course continues to focus on technical diving equipment configurations, including the use of multiple cylinders and redundant systems. Divers become more familiar with the gear necessary for extended decompression dives.

Tec 45 includes skill development in managing decompression stops, gas switching procedures, and handling potential problems associated with deeper and more complex dives.

Prerequisites:

Before enrolling in Tec 45, divers must meet specific prerequisites. These typically include being at least 18 years old, having a minimum of 50 logged dives, holding a Tec 40 certification (or equivalent), and having experience with enriched air nitrox diving.

Certification:
