Experience your first scuba dive in the beautiful waters of Samal Island.

Our Try Dive – Boat Dive is designed for first-time divers who want to experience scuba diving in an actual open-water environment. After a thorough briefing and basic skills orientation, you will travel by boat to a suitable dive site and enjoy a guided underwater experience with a qualified dive professional.

No previous scuba certification is required.

Duration

Approximately 4–5 hours

A typical schedule may include:

• 30 minutes – Registration and preparation

• 30–45 minutes – Scuba orientation and safety briefing

• 30 minutes – Equipment fitting and shallow-water familiarization

• 30–60 minutes – Boat transfer to the selected dive site

• 30–45 minutes – Guided introductory dive

• 30–60 minutes – Surface/boat time and return trip

• 15–30 minutes – Equipment removal and debriefing

Actual duration depends on the dive site, sea conditions, boat travel time, group size, and participant readiness.

The Dive Experience

Before boarding the boat, your instructor will introduce you to the scuba equipment and explain the basic skills needed for your first dive.

You will learn how to:

• Breathe underwater

• Equalize your ears

• Clear your regulator

• Clear a partially flooded mask

• Communicate underwater

• Control your breathing

• Maintain basic buoyancy

• Move comfortably underwater

Once at the dive site, your instructor will assess the conditions and your comfort level before entering the water.

The dive will be conducted at a shallow, appropriate recreational depth for a first-time diver, with the instructor maintaining close supervision throughout the experience.

Underwater Experience

Depending on the selected dive site and conditions, you may encounter:

• Coral reefs

• Reef fish

• Coral gardens

• Sea stars

• Nudibranchs

• Anemonefish

• Other tropical marine life

Samal's waters offer a variety of boat-accessible dive sites, including shallow reef environments suitable for introductory experiences.

Marine life sightings are never guaranteed and depend on natural conditions.

Maximum Depth

The dive depth will be determined by:

• Participant comfort

• Instructor assessment

• Sea conditions

• Dive-site conditions

• Applicable recreational diving standards

The activity is intended as an introductory scuba experience and is not equivalent to an Open Water Diver certification.

Open Water Course Upgrade

Enjoyed your first dive?

You may continue your scuba journey by enrolling in an Open Water Diver certification course.

What to Bring

Please bring:

• Swimwear

• Towel

• Extra clothes

• Hat/cap

• Personal identification

• Personal medications, if required

• Waterproof camera, if desired

For boat trips, we also recommend bringing a dry bag for personal belongings.

Safety First

Your safety and comfort are our priority.

Your instructor will supervise you throughout the activity and will adjust or terminate the dive whenever necessary.

The dive may be modified, shortened, postponed, or cancelled because of:

• Weather

• Strong waves

• Strong currents

• Poor visibility

• Unsafe sea conditions

• Equipment problems

• Participant discomfort

• Medical concerns

• Other operational or safety considerations

The final dive site is selected based on the conditions on the day of the activity.

Important Information

A Try Dive – Boat Dive is an introductory scuba experience and not a certification course.

Completing this activity does not qualify you to independently scuba dive or rent scuba equipment.

If you want to continue diving after your Try Dive, our instructors can guide you toward an appropriate Open Water Diver certification course.

Cancellation & Weather Policy

Because boat diving is dependent on sea and weather conditions, the final schedule is subject to operational confirmation.

If conditions are considered unsafe, Seantric Diving may:

• Change the dive site

• Reschedule the activity

• Modify the activity

• Cancel the trip

Safety always takes priority over completing the planned dive.
