For certain activities, additional prerequisites may apply.
Maximum Depth
The Deep Adventure Dive is conducted to a maximum depth appropriate to the training agency's standards and the student's certification.
For the standard Advanced Open Water program, the Deep Adventure Dive is designed to introduce divers to diving beyond their Open Water experience, with the course generally taking the student to a maximum of 30 meters / 100 feet under instructor supervision.
Important: Advanced Open Water certification does not mean the diver is automatically qualified for technical diving, decompression diving, or overhead environments.

After completing the course, you'll have:
More diving experience
Improved confidence
Better buoyancy awareness
Improved navigation skills
Experience with deeper recreational diving
Exposure to different diving environments
Greater understanding of your personal diving preferences

If a selected Adventure Dive cannot safely be conducted, the instructor may recommend an alternative Adventure Dive or reschedule the activity.

Is Advanced Open Water "Advanced" Technical Diving?
No.
Advanced Open Water is still a recreational diving qualification.
It introduces divers to different diving environments and skills but does not qualify a diver for:
Technical diving
Decompression diving
Trimix diving
Cave diving
Full cave penetration
Advanced wreck penetration
CCR diving
Divers interested in those disciplines should follow the appropriate training pathway.
Continue Your Diving Journey
After Advanced Open Water, you can continue developing your skills through:
Enriched Air Nitrox
Deep Diver
Wreck Diver
Night Diver
Search & Recovery
Peak Performance Buoyancy
Rescue Diver
Sidemount Diving
Technical Diving
Cave Diving
CCR / Rebreather Diving
Your Advanced course is not the end of your diving journey.
It's where your diving possibilities start to expand.
